PAB of pabblog is a hell of a guy. He sent me his old USA made Bean blucher mocs because the years had rendered them too small. Throwing tradition to the wind I immediately took them in for new vibram soles. This is what they look like now, my new walking shoes. Thanks PAB.

Friends don’t let friends invest in the stock market

John Gruber:

“Remember the piece I linked to earlier this week, wherein Joe Springer pointed out (all the way back in November) that large institutional investors who’d sold options on Apple’s stock back in the summer stood to profit by billions if AAPL closed today at $500 or under? It closed at $500.00.”

Anonymous asked: have you ever posted under an alias? personally, i don't think you're sophisticated enough, but i thought I provide an opporunity for you to weave something here.

You think longwing is my real name?

Anonymous asked: i only almost never wear a watch other than my Garmin...which I wear like a badge (of honor, I now run regularly) with full on 'trad', still. What concessions have you made in the last few years? Curious AS

I hardly ever wear a tie and my socks are terribly boring. I meant to acquire a fleece jacket this winter but never got around to it. I actually tried to buy a half-zip sweater but that didn’t work out too well either. Finally I’m getting tired of cordovan shoes but am to ashamed to admit it.
